Effortlessly stylish and enviably positioned in the very heart of the city centre, this fantastic 2-person holiday makes the ideal choice for your short stay in Paris.
Located on the 3rd floor of an attractive apartment building, a lift escorts you with ease to your private front door. Inside you will find a well-designed and comfortable studio apartment space with a main living room area with two chairs and a comfortable double bed. A flat screen TV is also provided here for your enjoyment. The floors are beautifully polished wood whilst the walls are a restful creamy shade with the occasional citrus feature wall. A large window provides a beautiful view of the city street below and a pretty Juliet balcony.
Pop though the doorway to discover the wonderful fitted kitchen which enables you to prepare all your meals with ease. Why not put together a picnic to take out with you or prepare a private romantic meal for two? You can enjoy it together at the dining table and two chairs also provided in the main living room.
The apartment also features a private bathroom with a sink, toilet and bath.
The apartment is ideally located almost alongside the beautiful River Seine itself in the delightful 5th arrondissement, also known as the Latin Quarter. It takes its name from the many students and tutors form the Sorbonne who at one time could often be heard speaking in Latin in the neighbourhood.
Immediately opposite the apartment lies the beautiful and spacious Jardin des Plantes which covers 28 hectares and includes not only the Natural History Museum and large greenhouses filled with exotic plants, but also its own little zoo too. Dating back to 1629, there’s plenty here to explore right on your doorstep.
Immediately west of the apartment lies a lesser well known city attraction, the beautiful Grande Mosquée de Paris or Great Mosque of Paris. This striking white building includes a 33 metre high minaret and was established in 1926 by the city in gratitude to the Muslim colonies of which 100,000 died fighting against Germany in World War I. In World War II the building played an important role in the city as it became a secret refuge for Jewish children providing them shelter, fake Muslim birth certificates and ultimately safety from the Nazi regime. If your French is good enough you may like to join one of the guided tours here. Alternatively you may prefer to simply relax in the excellent cafeteria which serves delicious eastern sweets and pastries. A visit here comes highly recommended.
Make your way upstream a few minutes on foot and you will glimpse the iconic building Notre Dame cathedral which sits upon an island in the Seine. It was made infamous by Victor Hugo’s novel and of course the Hollywood film adaptation in more recent years. Be sure to take one of the bridges over to the island and take a closer look at this fantastic building. The carvings above the door are particularly impressive and look out for the cheeky gargoyles on the upper tiers.
The apartment is also just moments away from Gare d’Austerlitz metro station making travel around the city extremely easy.
