Location

The charming apartment is perfectly situated a truly enviable location almost alongside the River Seine Itself. This is the city’s famous Latin Quarter which takes its name from the language once uttered in the streets by students and professors from the nearby Sorbonne many years ago. Officially this is the city’s 5th arrondissement and is located on the south bank of the Seine.

The apartment overlooks the National Museum of Natural History which sits within some 28 acres of Jardin des Plantes. You will also find a little zoo here as well as large greenhouses filled with all kinds of exotic plants making it the perfect place to explore on a cold day.

Getting around the city is particularly easy since you will find Gare d’Austerlitz metro station barely a minute’s walk away to the east.

Follow the Seine northwards to discover Ile de la Cite. It is one of several naturally formed islands in the river. It is likely to be the most famous of the islands as it is home to the iconic building Notre Dame Cathedral. You may be disappointed to learn that the tale of The Hunchback of Notre Dame was just a made up story, but you are sure to still enjoy admiring the building’s incredible carvings and gargoyles. It is also possible to look inside the building but as it is a fully functioning place of worship there are times when it is not open to the public. Check the official website for opening times to avoid disappointment.
