Bright, fresh, inviting and located in the centre of Paris, what’ not to love about the Design Apartment Laborde? You and your guests deserve to stay somewhere with some real Parisian style for your holiday.
The Design Apartment Laborde sits immediately west and within walking distance of Saint Lazare train station. The nearest metro station to the apartment is Saint Augustin. This is the 8th arrondissement and you will find the famous Champs Elysees just south of here. This, one of the world’s most famous upmarket shopping streets, is a pleasure to explore, although most of us can only afford to window shop. Measuring an incredible 1.18 miles and boasting cafes, luxury boutiques and cinemas, the street is immaculately manicured and lined by beautifully clipped horse-chestnut trees. Perfectly Parisian.
At the western end of the Chap Elysees sits the infamous Arc de Triomphe, a mammoth archway commemorating those who fought and died for France in the Napoleonic and French Revolutionary Wars. It stands at the centre of possibly the world’s most famous round-about, Place Charles de Gaulle. The eastern end of the avenue leads to the Jardin des Tuileries. After a visit to the humungous Louvre that lies just next door it makes the perfect antidote to any overdose of art and culture that you might be experiencing. Wander through these delightful gardens and perhaps visit the Orangerie. In total the gardens cover about 63 acres. If you have children then you can rent little sail boats that they can sail in the fountain. There’s also another little pond near the Orangerie where you can feed the fish. They always seem to be hungry and are not a bit shy.
