Stylishly designed and perfectly centrally located just a 15 minute walk from the Louvre, the stunning Studio Richelieu makes a perfect romantic holiday home in Paris.
Inside you will find a surprisingly spacious living area with beautiful parquet flooring throughout. The typically Parisian French windows open onto a charming Juliette balcony. There’s a big comfortable sofa that converts easily into a double bed. From here you can enjoy the flat screen TV also provided for your entertainment. In the corner is a stylish dining table and chairs to make mealtimes comfortable and sociable. To the side of the living area you will find a little kitchenette area for preparing simple meals during your stay. The apartment has its own private bathroom fitted with a shower, sink and toilet. The apartment is located on the 4th floor and is accessed via a lift. The entrance to the building is absolutely beautiful.
This cosy apartment promises to make your stay in Paris extra special. It makes the perfect retreat from the busy streets of city.
Studio Richelieu can be found just off Boulevard Montmartre in the 2nd arrondissement of the city. The Richelieu Drouot metro station is just a few minutes away giving you simple access to the whole city. To the immediate south, just 10 minutes’ walk away is the beautiful Jardin du Palais Royal (Royal Place Gardens). The palace itself began life in 1624 when it was first constructed as a home for the legendary Cardinal Richelieu. Upon his death in 1642 it was bequeathed to the crown and was home to the young Louis XIV, ‘The Sun King’. 200 years later it was almost completely destroyed by fire during the Revolution of 1848. It was eventually restored and years later given to the government. Whilst the palace is sadly not open to the public the gardens as well as Cour d'Honneur, the beautiful courtyard, are. A visit is definitely worth while as the gardens are something of quiet oasis from the busy city and the central fountain is absolutely breathtaking. Explore the buildings that surround the gardens, they house galleries, restaurants and all manner of interesting shops.
Just 5 minutes walk further south and you will come to the magnificent Louvre which of course sits on the north bank of the River Seine. Packed to the rafters with some 35,000 objects from before history was recorded and up to the 19th century, you may need a whole day to get round and see everything. Most people make a beeline for the most famous portrait in the world, the Mona Lisa. It’s up to you to decide for yourself if her ‘enigmatic smile’ warrants the incredible attention it receives. Don’t miss the controversial glass pyramid structure that so unexpectedly charmed Prince Charles’ architectural eye. This sprawling museum spans an incredible 652,300 square feet. Wear sensible footwear and bring a packet of sweets with you to keep your sugar levels topped up. Overdosing on art and culture can be very exhausting.
