Chabrol II Apartment Paris

The Chabrol II apartment is located amazingly just a 6 minute walk form Gare du Nord train station in the 10th arrondissement. The nearest metro station is Poissonniere, just 2 minutes’ walk away, giving you easy access to the whole city. The station is named after the French fishmonger known as ‘poissonnières’ who travelled to the market Les Halles with their fish from Boulogne and other harbours along the Channel.

From the apartment head east on foot for 10 minutes, past Gare de L’Est and cutting through the pretty Jardin Villemin. You will find yourself at the famous Canal Saint-Martin. This unforgettable waterway stretches 4.5 km linking Canal de l'Ourcq to the Seine. It was constructed at the orders of Napoleon in the early 19th century whose plan it was to provide a transport link as well as a source of fresh water for Paris. Only relatively recently spruced up following years of dilapidation (there were even recent plans to have it filled in) and much un-love it is now home to an extremely thriving bohemian community littered with cafes, bars and restaurants for you to enjoy.

Take the metro south to the Seine and explore the two islands, Ile Saint-Louis and Ile de la Cite. The latter is of course home to the famous Notre Dame Cathedral – a gothic architectural masterpiece of epic proportions!
